Little League

Magpie Luke proves his worth

I was pretty nervous to try out for the Eastern Phantoms Little League Charter team.

We did 3 try out sessions in the summer school holidays and a few days after the third one Mum and Dad got an email to say I had made the team. I was so happy and looking forward to the challenge.

I really enjoyed training with my coaches Jason, Leigh and Steve.

It was tough but they helped me to improve and I got on really well with the other kids in the team.

Most of them were from Perth and Morley but luckily I already knew Jacob from Wembley. I was so happy when I got my shirt with my name and my number 25 on it.

"I really enjoyed training with my coaches".

We had a pre-state tournament in Rockingham and we won 3 games and lost 1. We played pretty well and I couldn’t wait till the state tournament the following weekend.

The states didn’t work out as well as we hoped and we ended up not qualifying for nationals in Lismore.

One game I pitched really well which I was really happy about.

I was a bit upset that we didn’t qualify but overall it was a fantastic experience and I hope I can make another Charter team in the future.
